Hedge lucerne is a perennial (7 harvest/year) green fodder crop; it comes up to 4-5 years. It's having rich in protein (20-22 %) and good green fodder to goat, cow, sheep, rabbit & poultry also increase the weight gain and improves productivity of milk yield.
*Hedge Lucerne/Velimsal/ Dashrath Sowing methods*
*1) seed rate / acre:-* 10kg
*2) seed treatment :-* to get better germination seeds must be treated in hot water at 80⁰c for 5 minutes (boiling water removed from flame and kept for 5 min. To attain 8⁰c temp).
After 5 min. Seed should be washed with cold water and soaked in cold water over night.
Seeds should be shade dried before Sowing
*3)Spicing:-* 50cm × solid          stand  
Sow the seeds 10kg / acre in solid stand on the side of the ridges over the lines where fertilizers applied at a depth of 2cm and cover with soil.
Irrigate immediately after Sowing with less water flow.
Life Irrigation on the third day there after once in a week.
